Introduction to American Composers
October 3, 2011 Musical Director, Sima Kustanovich Master of Ceremonies, John Gagne For grades 3 to 5 Program focuses on identifying the orchestral instruments, introduces the concept of variations on a theme, and includes some emphasis on concert decorum. Conversations in Jazz
Musical Director, Sima Kustanovich Master of Ceremonies, John Gagne For grades 5 to 8 Program highlights American music in a format structured around American history. The Hook organ is used and the professional ensemble includes 154 musicians and a master of ceremonies. The composers introduced include Souza, Gershwin, Joplin, Ives, Bernstein, Copland, and others.
