This concert highlights contrasting styles\, repertoire\, and an interpretations\, demonstrating the versatility and expressive possibilities of the Worcester Organ. \n\n\nWorcester Organ Performance Series\nDoors Open: 11:30 AM | Performance: 12:00 PM \nMechanics Hall\, Worcester\, MA \n\nArtists\n\n\n\n\n\n \nRosalind Mohnsen is Organist/Choir-Director at Immaculate Conception Church of Malden/Medford Massachusetts\, where she has served for 43 years. She received degrees from the University of Nebraska and Indiana University and studied in Paris with Jean Langlais. She has performed in Latvia and Sweden\, for twenty-three national conventions of the Organ Historical Society\, a national convention of the American Guild of Organists\, the East Texas Pipe Organ Festival\, and Piccolo Spoleto in Charleston\, SC. She received the annual Distinguished Service Award of the Organ Historical Society and is a pianist in the Boston Symphony Café.\n\n\n\n \n\nLouise Mundinger is the Music Director at the Cathedral Church of St. Paul. She is a past Dean of the Boston Chapter of the American Guild of Organists (BAGO)\, and was\, for six years\, the director of the National New Music committee for the AGO. Her focus is to bring music for the pipe organ to new audiences\, and for people to hear the stories music tells. Louise Mundinger was a recipient of the Frank Huntington Beebe award for musicians\, which allowed her to study organ performance with Zsigmond Szathmáry in Freiburg\, Germany. She was a prize winner in the San Anselmo Organ Improvisation Competition and\, In 2008 Louise Mundinger was awarded the Talbot Baker Teaching Award at Milton Academy. She has been commissioned to write new music by\, among others\, the American Guild of Organists\, The American Composers Forum (the Faith Partners program)\, and the Diocese of Massachusetts. Her articles have appeared in The American Organist and Musforum. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOptional Registration\nOrgan Performances are free and open to the public. \nRegistration is encouraged to help us plan for attendance and keep you informed of any event updates.
