SUMMARY:Greg Piccolo & Heavy Juice
DESCRIPTION:Artist: Greg Piccolo\nA special event in partnership with 90.5 WICN’s Brian Barlow Series\n\nJoin us at Club 321 for an unforgettable night with blues and R&B legend Greg Piccolo. \nWith a career spanning more than six decades\, Greg Piccolo has helped define the sound of American rhythm & blues with his unmistakable tenor saxophone tone and powerhouse vocals—evoking the golden era when “sax was king.” From forming his first band at just 13 in Westerly\, Rhode Island\, to becoming one of the most respected voices in the genre\, Piccolo has spent a lifetime dedicated to groove\, grit\, and timeless musical storytelling. \nAs a longtime leader and key creative force behind the acclaimed Roomful of Blues\, he helped shape the band’s signature horn-driven sound\, leading them to international recognition\, Grammy nominations\, and worldwide touring success over a celebrated 25-year run. In 1994\, he launched Heavy Juice\, a more intimate and flexible project that opened the door to deeper artistic exploration. Since then\, Greg has continued to tour\, record\, and evolve—delivering music rooted in tradition but alive with energy and swing. \nThis Club 321 performance is a rare chance to experience a true master of blues and R&B in an intimate setting. Expect big tone\, deep groove\, and a night of music that moves from the first note to the last. \n\nExperience a different side of Mechanics Hall\, in our intimate Washburn Hall\, transformed one Thursday night a month into your favorite club.
