SUMMARY:Spring 2027 Brown Bag Concert Series featuring Zahili Zamora's Jazz Trio
DESCRIPTION:Artist: Zahili Zamora’s Jazz Trio \nZahili Gonzalez Zamora is a Cuban-born pianist\, composer\, bandleader\, arranger\, and educator whose work is deeply rooted in her Cuban heritage and shaped by her experience as an immigrant.  \nBorn in Manzanillo\, Cuba\, she began playing piano at the age of six and later graduated from Cuba’s National School of Music with a degree in performance. SUMMARY:Spring 2027 Brown Bag Concert Series featuring City of Four
DESCRIPTION:Artist: City of Four\nCity of Four’s Brown Bag concert performance will feature an all-original set of groove-based modern jazz fusion music comprised of new compositions from the band’s recent tour of the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. \n\nCity of Four’s original brand of groove-based jazz fusion has been called a “cornucopia of jazz melodies\,” (The Big Takeover) where “each member brings something unique to the table.” (Stamish Malcuss\, Jazz Sensibilities) The music collective features the original compositions and improvisations of its four members in an electrified instrumental jazz combo format\, merging modern jazz\, funk\, jazz-rock fusion\, hip hop\, and progressive rock. “When the jazz\, funk and progressive styles come together it can be a beautiful thing.” (Rob Duguay\, Rock n’Heavy) Mike Caudill (saxophone\, EWI) formed the group with fellow Worcester County native Cat Tremblay (keyboards) when both musicians were students at UMass Amherst\, and since then the duo has joined forces with top players in the Boston area. \n\nAdmission: Free & Open to the Public\n\n\n\nBring your own “brown bag” lunch\, or purchase a treat at our concession stand and enjoy wonderful music while eating your lunch! \n\nTime: Doors 11:30am | Show at Noon \n\nAudience: All Ages \n\nThe Brown Bag Concert Series\, presented by Mechanics Hall and 90.5 FM WICN\, has been a beloved tradition in Worcester since 1983. SUMMARY:Keys Across America with Mackenzie Melemed
DESCRIPTION:Keys Across America explores the rich diversity of American piano music\, from the lyricism of Amy Beach and Edward MacDowell to the bold voices of Florence Price\, Aaron Copland\, Ned Rorem\, and Louis Moreau Gottschalk. \nAt the heart of the recital is a tribute to composers of the Second New England School—Amy Beach\, Edward MacDowell\, and Arthur Foote—whose music helped shape a distinctly American musical identity. As a Worcester County native\, it is especially meaningful to celebrate New England’s enduring contribution to our nation’s musical heritage. The program also features two recently commissioned works by Laura Kaminsky and Avner Dorman. \nThroughout the performance\, Melemed will share brief commentary from the stage\, offering historical context and stories behind the music to create an engaging concert experience in his signature style. Launched in 2025\, Keys Across America continues through the 2027–28 season\, and will reach more than 50 cities in over 30 states. \nA portion of ticket proceeds will go towards Many Voices: Mechanics Hall Youth Singers \nDoors Open at 6:30pm \nAll Ages
