DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, August 17\, 2024\n\n6:00 PM to 9:00 PM\n\n(Doors open at 5pm)\n\n\n\nBuy Tickets\n\n \nThe pageant is produced by Pride Worcester. \nThe pageant aims to showcase the diversity of and give a voice to the local LGBTQ+ community. \nAll participants will be scored against each other with the top two serving as First Majesty of the Worcester Royal Court (first place) and Second Majesty of the Worcester Royal Court (second place). Each Majesty will get to determine their prefix for the duration of their reign. \nAll members of the local LGBTQ+ community are invited to participate. \nProceeds from ticket sales will go to supporting Pride Worcester. \nMore Info

DESCRIPTION:Cecily DeMarco will showcase her art on the historic 1864 Hook Organ at Mechanics Hall. The event will feature music composed specifically for the organ\, as well as orchestral pieces transcribed for this magnificent instrument. Whether you are a seasoned organ music lover or a newcomer to the genre\, this event promises to be a delightful and enriching experience for all. Join us for a memorable musical journey that celebrates both the rich tradition of organ music and the innovative spirit of a young organist.\nNote: Bring your own “brown bag” lunch or make a purchase at concessions!\n \n\nPlease Note: This performance takes place on the 3rd floor\, in the Great Hall.\nTable seating is provided and is first-come first-served. Balcony seating also available.\nBalcony is not accessible by elevator. \n \n\nLabeled a “Rising Star” by the American Guild of Organists\, Cecily DeMarco (b.2000) is Organ Scholar at Hitchcock Presbyterian Church in Scarsdale\, NY. She is a graduate of The Juilliard School where she earned her Bachelor of Music Degree. Currently\, Cecily is in the Master of Music program at Juilliard and will continue to study with world renowned\, Grammy award winning artist\, Paul Jacobs. \n\nCecily has performed on both the east and west coasts\, but most frequently in New York and Florida\, appearing at venues such as St. Patrick’s Cathedral (NYC)\, Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church (NYC)\, Columbia University (NYC)\, Bethesda by the Sea (Palm Beach)\, and Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church (Fort Lauderdale). \nIn 2021\, Miss DeMarco competed and won first prize in the New York City Chapter of the Regional Competition for Young Organists (RCYO)\, and proceeded to also win first prize in the Northeast Regional Competition.
