SUMMARY:The Worcester Organ Performance Series: Gavin Klein\, Holy Cross Organ Scholar
DESCRIPTION:Doors Open 11:30 am Show 12:00 pm\nFree Admission\nLunch is welcome—bring your own or pick something up at concessions!\nFor more information about The Worcester Organ\, visit us at www.MechanicsHall.org/the-worcester-organ \n\n21-year-old Gavin Klein\, Organ Scholar at the College of the Holy Cross\, has already made a name for himself in the world of classical music. \nA Massachusetts native\, Klein’s musical journey began early\, giving him the opportunity to study under renowned instructors\, and perform in some of the most breathtaking venues across the United States\, Europe\, and even South America. \nIn addition to performing with the Nashoba Symphonic Band at Mechanics Hall in 2022\, his performances have resonated through places like Yale University’s Woolsey Hall\, Pfarrkirche Maria Gebürt in Rottenbuch\, the Salzburger Cathedral in Austria\, and even a historic church in Buenos Aires\, Argentina. \nBut Klein’s talent goes beyond performance – he is a passionate historian dedicated to preserving musical history. As the former Distinguished Artist-in-Residence at the Harvard Historical Society\, he played a key role in maintaining a 150-year-old George Stevens Organ\, ensuring its sound continues to awe audiences for generations to come. At just 15 years old\, he made history himself by giving the first-ever organ recital at Vermont’s Epsilon Spires Performing Arts Center\, playing an instrument with over a century of stories behind it. \nKlein was recently named in the Diapason Magazine’s 2025 class of “20 under 30.” \nWhether you’re discovering the organ for the first time\, or a life-long fan\, you don’t want to miss this inspiring performance on The Worcester Organ.
