Me2 presents “Stigma-Free at Mechanics Hall”

April 28 @ 4:00 pm

Join us for an afternoon of great music and conversation that erases the stigma surrounding mental illness. The program includes Brahms’ Hungarian Dance No. 1, Faure Pavane, and the final movement of Tchaikovsky Symphony No 5. The orchestra will be led by Music Director & Conductor Ronald Braunstein, an award-winning musician who lives with bipolar disorder. This event is free and open to the general public. Audience members will be invited to participate in a brief Q&A session where they can “Ask Us Anything!” by texting questions to the orchestra members. Free Admission – Registration Required Register Here   Me2 is the world’s only classical music organization created for musicians living with mental illness and the people who support them. Approximately half of Me2’s musicians have a diagnosis, including bipolar disorder, depression, PTSD, anxiety, dissociative disorder, and addiction. Me2 exists because we live in a world where people with mental illnesses are stigmatized and discriminated against. Our rehearsals and performances create opportunities for us to educate people about the realities of living with mental illnesses and support those who are seeking treatment. We think this is a great way for musicians of all ages and ability levels to create social change.
