Artist: Zahili Zamora’s Jazz Trio

Zahili Gonzalez Zamora is a Cuban-born pianist, composer, bandleader, arranger, and educator whose work is deeply rooted in her Cuban heritage and shaped by her experience as an immigrant.

Born in Manzanillo, Cuba, she began playing piano at the age of six and later graduated from Cuba’s National School of Music with a degree in performance. She went on to graduate summa cum laude from Berklee College of Music, where she now serves as an Associate Professor in the Piano Department.

Her musical journey has taken her from Cuba to Canada, Southeast Asia, and the United States. Across these experiences, she has developed a distinctive artistic voice that brings Afro-Cuban musical traditions into dialogue with jazz, improvisation, and contemporary influences.

As a pianist and composer, Zahili is driven by curiosity, cultural identity, and a continual desire for artistic growth. Her work reflects both the richness of her musical heritage and the experience of creating a life and artistic identity beyond the place she first called home.
