With live improvised musical accompaniment.
An event featuring live organ accompaniment by renowned organist Peter Krasinski. Experience an immersive evening where the Worcester Organ becomes an orchestra, and early classic cinema comes to life.
This program will feature the 1923 silent film classic, “The Hunchback of Notre Dame”, starring Lon Chaney. Known as “the man of 1000 faces“ this performance by the silent screen star, along with suburb performances from the supporting cast, presents the compelling story by Victor Hugo of faith in the face of injustice, power in a diverse society and the “human condition.”
The film will be accompanied live by Mechanics Hall’s Principal Organist, Peter Krasinski, whose acclaimed improvisations bring silent cinema to life in a way that is both historically informed and uniquely engaging.
