Mechanics Hall is the premier event venue and concert hall in Central Massachusetts.
The drama of combat has inspired many thrilling works for orchestra, and film directors have deployed symphonic forces to heighten the suspense and excitement felt by viewers of war films such as “Patton,” “Platoon,” “Band of Brothers,” “The Great Escape,” and “Schindler’s List.” The Worcester Symphony brings music from these scores and others to the Mechanics Hall stage.
The Worcester Symphony Orchestra (WSO), formerly the New England Symphony Orchestra, has served Central Massachusetts for more than 50 years, providing programs for the education, enrichment and pleasure of the citizens and musicians of the region. The orchestra is an independent cultural organization committed to enhancing the quality of life in our communities.
