Please join us on Thursday, March 14th 2024 for Beyond the Frames: A Day of Celebrations. On this day, we will celebrate three newly commissioned portraits to take place among our long-established Portrait Collection of notable 19th century social reformers, Civil War heroes, and political leaders from the Worcester area and beyond. The portraits of Frederick Douglass, Sojourner Truth, and William and Martha Brown will honor the contributions of these four members of the Anti-Slavery and Reform Movements. They will also represent a permanent and public declaration that Black history is American history.
