Event Spaces

Great Hall
The Great Hall, on the third level, is a magnificent room featuring a richly decorated coffered ceiling. Corinthian pilasters and balustrade balcony allow an unencumbered view of the stage from everywhere in the room. The Great Hall is considered an acoustic masterpiece, perfectly suited to music performance and recording. However, the flexibility of seating and staging allows clients to host a wide range of events.

Washburn Hall
Washburn Hall is on the second level and is as simple as the Great Hall is ornate. With its arched windows, a small stage, and a full-service beverage bar, Washburn Hall is used for private receptions, meetings, video presentations, intermission service at performances, and much more. This room also provides clients with complete flexibility of seating and staging.

Boyden Salon
Boyden Salon is a magnificent third-level reception and meeting space flanked by floor to ceiling glass on one side and the original 1857 brick façade on the other. Part of the award-winning addition constructed in the 1980s, Boyden Salon can seat 70 and can host a standing reception for 100. With access to the Great Hall, elevators, and catering spaces, Boyden Salon is ideal for smaller functions – meetings and receptions. It is often used for catering or bar service stations for large Great Hall events.

Board Room
The Mechanics Hall Board Room enjoys natural light during daylight hours and is spacious and versatile enough to host meetings for 40 or more in a variety of seating arrays. Located on the second level, the Board Room provides a tranquil spot for bridal parties to convene after a wedding ceremony in preparation for the reception. Clients also use the Board Room for private receptions for guests attending a gala or concert.

Dickens Room
In the 19th century, the Dickens Room was a Members’ lounge, complete with Victorian accoutrements and artwork. Adjacent to the Great Hall and overlooking Main Street, today the Dickens Room is used for small pre- concert receptions for up to 40, a quiet room for weddings and other celebrations taking place in the Great Hall, and sometimes bar service stations. With the floor to ceiling windows that give Mechanics Hall distinction from Main Street, the Dickens Room provides an elegant atmosphere for your private event.
