Leonardo Ciampa (Mechanics Hall Composer-in-Residence 2021-2023) is the Artistic Director for this brand new concert series, a celebration of the wide variety of great music from the past and present, performed by top-notch performers from Worcester and beyond. Mechanics Hall is one of the acoustically finest concert halls in the United States, boasting three awe-inspiring instruments: the “Worcester Organ” (built in 1864, the E. & G.G. Hook Opus 334 is one of the world’s greatest concert hall pipe organs) and two Hamburg Steinway concert grand pianos. Mechanics Hall is known throughout the world as a great concert hall, but is loved throughout Worcester as a gathering place for a variety of great and unique events. “Music for a Great Hall” honors both the global and local aspects of this space which can truly be called “one of a kind”!
